The Design Process

We believe that what makes us different is our holistic approach to Design and Architecture. There should be as great a focus on internal planning and finishing as there is on the external design of the building. After all, it is a well functioning interior that is key to a building's success.

Initial meeting

​

Your ideas and needs are the primary focus of how we work.

We will discuss your aims, making sure the appropriate design approach is taken.

Sometimes a simple solution can produce the best results.

Brief

 

Following on from our initial meeting we would produce a ‘Brief’ outlining the intentions of the project from our initial meeting, to make sure we are all on the same page and nothing is lost in translation.

 

 

Site Survey

 

A thorough survey of the site will be undertaken and scale drawings produced of the existing site.

 

 

Concept Design

 

Our clients are integral to this process as we see Design as a collaboration.

We will develop the design through initial sketches and some extremely helpful 3D modelling. Space planning is essential to this phase along with some key reference imagery to help you see the vision and scope of the design. We will present multiple design ideas at this stage and take your feedback in to the next stage. A rough costing of the project can be achieved at this stage.

 

 

Design Development

 

The design will be developed, following the Concept Design meeting, to allow us to put forward a Planning Application (External works only). This will include initial scale drawings of the proposed design. This is key to the project moving forward and we will take full responsibility of communication with the local planning authority.

 

 

Detail Design

 

This stage will produce a full set of construction/ detail drawings of the final design. The Building Control application will be made and a contractor appointed after a Tender process. At this stage you will have a more accurate idea of specific costings and make sure you work with the right contractor for the project.

If required, this stage will also include Interior finishes and specification. We are happy to produce a full Fixtures, furniture and finishes package, should you want our full Interior Design service as well.

Construction

 

The word speaks for itself! Site visits are a natural part of the design process and we will always be on hand to answer any questions you or the contractor may have.

Handover

 

We will make sure you are 100% satisfied with the work completed and leave you to enjoy your new space.
